Welcome (But you can't come in)

  1. I love this! The more I get into the word, God reveals himself to me in new ways. Recently as I've been reading through the prophets it has become apparent that our God is a God of love, mercy, and justice rather than just a powerful being who judges those who don't measure up to certain standards. I've really been able to see how His heart breaks for the poor, the sick, the widow, the orphan, and anyone in need. And He's also shown me how His heart breaks when those who call themselves Christians allow these injustices in the world to continue simply by not acting. Passages such as Luke 6:20-26, James 1:21-27, Matthew 25:31-46, Isaiah 58, and Micah 6:8 all testify to the fact that our God longs for us to do something, anything that we can, to right the wrongs in our world today. It excites me to know that we can take what Jesus has said seriously in order to bring about His kingdom. For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you! (Luke 17:21)
